Our main mission is to educate the boating public and advise them of safety measures at the Tappan Zee Bridge - the full three mile stretch from Tarrytown to across the river at Nyack, New York. Whether on patrol or conducting vessel safety checks, we answer questions regarding navigation and VHF radio usage.
Additionally, we have also been inolved in the RBS, Operations training, perimeter assistance for Hudson River Swims and July 4th events as needed for the past ten years.
In recent months our member training staff officers, coxswains and crew provided training for neighboring division within First Southern District who are qualifying as coxswain and crew. Qualification Examiners from the region gave us the opportunity and their time in fulfilling these missions. We are thankful to them for coming aboard and assisting crew candidates in attaining their goals.
