Auxiliary assistance is so
important because SECLIS’s two Aids to Navigation Teams and the USCGC Bollard have responsibility for 1,029 federal aids, 23 lighthouses, and an astounding 1,896 PATONs. Their missions include icebreaking, physical maintenance of federal aids, and seasonal replacement of many buoys with types that can withstand our winter weather.
