HE U.S. COAST GUARD Open House kicked off Safe Boating Week on Saturday 20 May at Sector Long Island Sound.
Sherry Dobrin, Immediate Past Flotilla Commander of Flotilla 07-02 Norwalk, opened the day by singing the Star
Spangled Banner.
Visitors were greeted with life jacket demos, water safety tips, public safety agencies displays, kayak and paddlecraft safety demos, safey flare demo, tours aboard USCG patrol vessels, the USCG Academy information booth, water testing equipment demos as well as a bake sale and food and beverages, while Captain Andrew Tucci, Captain of the Port, Long Island Sound, personally demonstrated the inflatable life jacket (see next page).
