Auxiliarists Augment Veterans Stand Down

ROCKY HILL -- For the third year in a row, Coast Guard Auxiliarists, from Division 25 were on location at the Veterans Stand Down at the State Veterans Home Campus in Rocky Hill, Conn., September 12, 2014. David Marriott, Bill Bowen, Eileen Christensen, Bill Munson, Bill Hancock, Duncan Gifford, Kyle Knickerbocker and Bob Carlson were on duty to help with parking, directions, information, cooking, serving lunch and clean up.

The Connecticut Department of Veterans' Affairs in Rocky Hill had more than 1,000 veterans attend this year's Stand Down. Federal and state agencies, as well as local businesses and corporations, provided free services, assistance and information on topics such as employment, housing, health care, social services and legal services-all at one location.
