Investing in the right tools We’ re not naïve about technology’ s role. The right tools amplify what good people can do. Over the past few years we’ ve made significant investments: migrating to an OMS that allowed for more scale and functionality, building a robust FIX network connecting to more than 300 global brokers, and deploying machine-learning tools that help us surface relevant market information faster.
AI is still in the first inning of a nine-inning game, but even now it’ s helping our traders filter the noise and identify what matters for each client’ s portfolio. When you’ re trading for multiple accounts simultaneously, having intelligent systems scanning the market for relevant signals allows you to focus your attention where it’ s most valuable- on execution quality and client dialogue.
Perhaps our most important investment, though, has been in quantitative talent. We brought in a team of quants, led by former heads of electronic trading from top firms, to build customised trading strategies around every client that we engage.
These are not off-the-shelf models; they’ re designed around individual portfolio characteristics and trading styles. The result has been a measurable improvement in TCA performance across our client base- less market impact, tighter spreads, and more consistent execution.
Building without conflict As a truly independent broker, our philosophy is simple: eliminate conflicts wherever possible. We don’ t internalise orders, we don’ t host an ATS, and we don’ t monetise client data. Our algorithms are broker-neutral, routing orders across the Street based purely on best execution. The outsourced desk operates independently from our agency block-trading business, ensuring that decisions are made solely in the client’ s best interest.
Every routing decision is based on where they’ ll achieve the best fill, not on economics. That conflict free model builds alignment, transparency and trust.
Staying power through stability Several large institutions exited the outsourced trading space recently. JonesTrading has been around for 50 years and has weathered many market cycles.

A full-service ecosystem We also operate synergistic business lines such as prime brokerage, which many of our outsourced clients engage with. We are a full service PB, with top tier custodians, high touch service, robust reporting, and a single point of contact for both execution and post-trade.
We also offer capital introduction services to our outsourced clients. Our cap-intro team spends every day speaking with allocators, arranging introductions and helping client navigate the investor landscape and marketing process.
