Women - Where Last year marked the 100th anniversary of Suffragette Emily Wilding Davidson’s fatal death, where she was collieded with the King’s Horse during a protest at the annual Derby. This was arguably one of the biggest moments in the history of Women’s rights and five years later women gained the right to vote. So 100 years on just how far have we really come? The idea of feminism in this day and age bring stereotypes of burning bras, unshaven armpits and menhating women, but is it really that impossible to think that a woman finely groomed and all dressed in pink can’t want the same rights as a man? Although from a worldwide point of view our rights in a first world country seem like something of a blessing compared to the horrors that can be seen around the globe. Our screens are filled with arranged marriges, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and the horrific ways women are treated in Eastern cultures. Yet we look closer to home, although we do not endu
