Death toll in Nepal earthquake exceeds 7500
Nearly 15 000 people were injured, according to local authorities.
More than 130,000 military and police participate in rescue operations.
The earthquake may be linked to a tremor occurred in 1934, which killed 8500 people in the same region, leaving large accumulated pressure underground. Scientists believe that this pressure was being transferred along a geological fault and released, 81 afterwards.
The most worrying is that the researchers believe that aftershocks may be to come. Calculations suggest that the magnitude 7.8 earthquake Saturday was not strong enough to generate a break to the surface, then it is possible that more pressure is still accumulated. So you can expect a new major earthquake east and south in the coming decades.
