Presidency University ?

The Presidency Group of Institutions [ PGI ], established in the year 1976 , has been contributing to the cause of education in the State of Karnataka for more than 40 years in schooling and over a decade and half in higher education .

Presidency University is a Private University , established as such by the State Legislature under a self regulating act , Presidency University Act , 2013 , notified in the Official Gazette , as Act No . 41 of 2013 .

The Campus of Presidency University is a sprawling 62 acres of lush and green spread with state of the art infrastructure . The Campus boasts of a very active and vibrant student life .

The University presently comprises of three schools , the School of Engineering , the School of Management and the School of Law .

Courses + FaCulty + researCh The School of Engineering offers a four Program in the following disciplines leading to the award of a Bachelor ’ s Degree in Technology [ B . Tech ].

• Petroleum Engineering The School of Management offers a two year Program with the following specialisations , leading to the award of a Master ’ s Degree in Management [ MBA ]

• Operations , Logistics & Supply Chain Management

• Data Science and Business Analytics

The School of Law offers five year Integrated Program combinations , leading to award of a BBA- LLB or B . Com-LLB or a BA-LLB Degree , as the case may be . All the three Program are duly approved by the Bar Council of India [ BCI ], the Body that regulates the Legal Profession in India

As of date , the University has around 4000 students on its rolls taught by 265 highly qualified and domain-expert faculty , drawn from the leading Institutions of India , like the Indian Institute of Management [ IIM ], Indian Institute of Technology [ IIT ], Birla Institute of Technology [ BIT ], Indian Institute of Science etc . By 2020 the University is expected to touch its steady state of around 14000 students in these three schools

internship The Curriculum taught

and the pedagogy used are contemporary , industry oriented and in that direction each Program is integrated with two tranches of Industrial Internship Program . The Engineering and Management Students do a total of 6 months of Internship spread over a 2-month Internship midterm and a 4-month tenure in the last semester of the respective Program . In the case of the Law students , the internship comprises of one month duration every semester culminating with a 4 – month exposure in the last semester .

plaCeMent proCess at presiDenCy university :

• The Placement Team visits / Interacts with the Organizations and sends invitation to the Recruiters with relevant details of the students regarding the Final Placements .

• Recruiters convey their intention to participate by submitting a mail or ITH Form ( Intend to Hire- Format ) to the University .

• The Organizations will inform the Placement team on the No of vacancies date of interview , Hiring process , their requirements , Venue and other details , and Job Descriptions .

• All the students are expected and advised to attend and undergo the Placement Training programmes and Pre Placement Talks by the companies . Attendance on the above is mandatory to get eligibility .

• Organizations are encouraged to give pre-placement talks before the commencement of recruitment process . This gives students a chance to know more about the company , work culture , growth

Private Universities are the incubators of ‘ innovation ’. It is one of my firm convictions that the nature ’ s law of “ survival of the fittest ” holds good in an educational environment . Stakeholder preferences drive growth . In our case continuous updation of curriculum keeping in tune with the contemporary industry demand is a must , which our Boards of Studies and Academic Council relentlessly do . For instance our University offers a Specialization for Management [ MBA ] Students , in Business Analytics and Data Science , the need of the hour .
