A & A Masonry recently took on a complete exterior renovation of a 1970s home, blending Indiana Limestone, high-quality stucco, precision metalwork, and expert landscaping to create a striking, modern aesthetic. Uncovering Hidden Issues
At the start of the project, the team discovered a major challenge— insufficient support behind the original masonry. To maintain structural stability, they opted for Indiana Limestone veneer instead of full ledger stone. The home’ s outdated weeping mortar joints were removed, and the structure was reinforced with plywood and a vapor barrier to ensure proper adhesion of the new exterior finishes.
Precision in Masonry & Architectural Details
The transformation truly took shape with the meticulous installation of Indiana Limestone veneer. Expert masons carefully selected and positioned each stone for a seamless, high-end finish. Special architectural touches included 6-8 inch moldings around the garage door, elegant limestone sills under upper-level windows, and a precisely cut stone veneer integration around the bay window, ensuring a smooth transition into the upcoming stucco work.
Lighting & Metalwork Enhancements
To further elevate the home’ s beauty, electricians installed strategic lighting to highlight the stone’ s texture at night, creating a dramatic effect. The exterior makeover was completed with the installation of soffits, fascia, and eavestroughs. These elements not only enhanced the home’ s appearance but also provided crucial functionality— soffits regulated attic ventilation, fascia reinforced gutter support, and a new downspout system ensured proper rainwater management, protecting the foundation and landscaping.
