Catamount in South Egremont is gearing up for an action-packed fall with two exciting events . The return of the 3rd Annual Fall Fest on September 28 , a family-friendly gathering in anticipation of the winter . Look for the Black Cat Bash , a 21 + Halloween Costume Party in October . Once the snow starts to fly , catch live music events in the lodge along with family-friendly activities in the lodge — keep an eye out for the Family Snow Tubing Party and Cardboard Classic Sled Race as Catamount heads into December . Having made upgrades to the snowmaking pipelines over the summer , Catamount looks to ensure a longer ski season with quality snow coverage . Along with an overhaul on a key chairlift , the mountain resort aims to allow for uninterrupted access to both sides of the mountain . In 2018 , the Schaefer family , who owns Berkshire East Mountain Resort in Charlemont , purchased Catamount and has been actively making improvements , including opening the “ Catamonster ,” the longest zip line in the 50 states . catamountski . com
