Big Weekend the future

A warm welcome to our new Committee

The 2024 AGM at Preston Montford brought about major change in the OWPG ’ s Committee . Incoming Guild Chair Josephine Collingwood introduces the new and continuing Oficers .
An enormous thank you goes to the retiring Officers and Committee members who have worked so hard over the previous years , including :
• Stan Abbot
• Alex Roddie
• Jacquetta Megarry
• Felicity Martin
• Lisa Drewe
• David Taylor
• John McFadzean . Another enormous thank you goes to the newly elected members who have stepped up and into new roles . I am genuinely excited about the ideas , drive and enthusiasm within the Committee . Over the last few months , I have gathered ideas and suggestions about the future of the OWPG , culminating in a brainstorming strategy session at the Big Weekend . Imbued with our new Vision & Values ( see page 6 ), these ideas and suggestions will form the framework of what we do next , to grow the OWPG , its visibility in the industry and its reputation . Let it begin !

Sue Viccars has taken on the administration of the Awards for Excellence . Details on the 2025 awards will be coming out early next year .
Jon Sparks and Ronald Turnbull have launched a guild newsletter on the Substack platform . An update on this is elsewhere in the magazine .
David Jordan has taken up the editorship of Outdoor Focus . His contact details are at the start of the magazine .
Dr Andrew Read is the new manager of the guild ’ s Zooms programme . He ’ s currently looking for presentations for 2025 : could you offer something either interesting or useful ( or even both at once …) or can you suggest someone who might ?
All of these are two-way streets , existing for the membership but also from us . The OWPG website has contact details for all guild officers under ‘ Our Officers and Committee ’.
