CLOVE + HONEY
Hannah and Lucy Cochran started Clove and Honey because they always struggled to
find bikinis that were designed to fit a variety of body types but were functional enough
to fit an active lifestyle. The girls knew they wanted to use “honey” in the name but the
graphic designer who did their logo, Kate Gilreath, came up with name “Clove + Honey.”
At first Hannah and Lucy made them for themselves and friends. It wasn’t until later that
they decided to sell them. They design all of the patterns and find inspiration from friends
and custom orders. Currently C+H offers five bikini tops and six bottoms styles that cus-
tomers can mix and match. This spring they also launched a line of embroidered T-shirts.
All products are available on Etsy, Instagram, and at Cosa Cura in downtown Bend. The
Cochran’s promote and advertise the bikini line primarily on Instagram. Their customers
are women looking for a comfortable, affordable bikini, handmade by Oregon women.
JD SUP
JD Platt has never been one for tradition. As a
renaissance man with a penchant for exploring, JD
has been a professional snowboarder, disc golfer,
reality TV personality, dog performer, and nearly
everything in between. Born and raised in Bend, he
is innovative thinker with a love of adrenaline, dogs,
and the great outdoors, it comes as no surprise that
his boards match all three passions.
JD had been paddleboarding along the Deschutes
river in Bend, Oregon for years. It wasn’t long be-
fore he was hooked. But he discovered a few prob-
lems along the way – his dogs struggled to stay on
the boards, hitting a rock could cause hundreds of
dollars in damage to his board. So, In normal Platt
fashion he went head first into designing some of
the most innovative SUP inflatable boards to come
to market. The JD line is entirely inflatable, and is
well thought out. All the designs are lightweight,
very durable, for K9’s to kids. There is even a Paw
Perch for dogs to enjoy the ride, retractable fins,
and boards designed with Yoga in mind.
JD Plat never rested on past accomplishments, he’s
an athlete and innovator in everything he pursues.
JD has built a life around outdoor sports, dogs,
friends and family. His enthusiasm is infectious and
now with JD SUP he’s sharing another passion for
getting people out to enjoy the great outdoors.

VIBRAM

In 1935, tragedy drove Vitale Bramani to develop a sole capable of excellent traction on
mixed surfaces. Using vulcanized rubber technology, he developed the Carrarmato design.
It will soon be famous. Even today it remains one of the most used soles by mountain
climbers.
Vibram is the world leader in the production and sale of high performance rubber out-
soles in the markets of sport, leisure, industrial, orthopedic and repair. For more than 70
years, the famous yellow octagon that identifies our brand has been synonymous with
quality, performance, safety, innovation and design. Vibram soles, created with a desire to
increase safety and protection levels, are the result of a constant commitment to research
and development. Since 1937 when Vitale Bramani (Vi-Bram) created the revolutionary
‘Carrarmato’, the rubber sole for mountaineering shoes, the company has continued to
draw on this wealth of tradition and technology and created Vibram Fivefingers® - a mini-
malist footwear concept: soles for the feet with five fingers made from Vibram® rubber
that, as flexible as a glove, facilitates a natural articulation of the foot.
The stories and memories made by the Furrer family are the foundation of
Werner Paddles. Family and friends and their paddling adventures are what
fueled Werner Sr’s desire to design and build a better paddling paddle.
Today they call it Ultimate Paddle Performance; it’s their mission statement.
