Well, compare it to a wildlife center where people go to learn about the natural world and be around other nature lovers. The Substance Coffee & Discovery Center is a one of a kind gathering place in Bend — and possibly the first of its kind in North America. The space takes the cannabis community to a higher level of consciousness. A safe learning center for everything cannabis and build- ing community around it. Located adjacent to the original Substance dispensary on Division and Revere in an old industrial building, the historic building had many uses over the decades. The building was leased a while back with a long term vision to renovate and bring a community of like minded people together. The Center will serve craft coffee and sell gifts and lifestyle accessories. Other items available will be terpene infused sodas, and probiotic beverages like kefir and kombucha. The Center will be about promoting local glass makers and artisans, showcasing locally made products. Art openings will coincide with First Fridays, live music will be abundant, and special events will fill the monthly calendar. Lectures will consist of Cannabis history, Cannabis 101, using Cannabis as medicine, growing your own plants, and making your own edibles, tinctures, and topicals. The goal is to inspire and support dynamic and vibrant living. The Cannabis Discovery Center will be a comfortable gathering place where people can socialize, talk about something they have in common, make friends and build community. Come and enjoy a good cup of craft coffee or kombucha, check out artwork, and smell some terpenes.
