6 NEWS| JACKSON KEEFER RUNS AT USATF BEND CYCLOCROSS RACERS SCORE NATIONAL JUNIOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGH AT CRUSADE SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS Jackson Keefer, 14, of Bend was the sin- gle runner to make the trip to Tallahassee, Florida for the USATF JR National Cross Country Championships. Jackson, originally from the Bay Area, attends Pacific Crest Middle School where he is in the 8th grade. At Pacific Crest, he runs cross country, track, and plays baseball and basketball. Jackson credits his coaches Kari Strang and Max King for the conditioning to be able to run against the best junior runners in the country. Jackson’s favourite runners are Mo Farah and Max King. Jackson’s race took place on December, 14th 2017 in Tallahassee. 10TH ANNUAL DIRKSEN DERBY FI- NAL NUMBERS ARE IN... HUGE YEAR 460 racers challenged the two courses on snowboards, splitboards and sit skis. There were also 24 film and photo competitors and 16 art show competitors.
