Before EVO, he did product development for a company that sold drones. When that industry drastically changed, he decided there was an opening to take the technology in personal handheld filming devices to the next level. Peter teamed up with Bend filmmaker and entrepreneur, Hans Skjersaa. Together, they founded EVO with the vision to become a major player in modern content creation and push camera stabilization technology to the next level. Hans’s wife Fen is an electronics expert who was born and raised in Shenzhen, China. Fen plays a very important role in the success of the business. Navigating the challenges of an overseas electronics production facility while maintaining precise quality control is enormous. Knowing the language and the ins and outs of manufacturing in Shenzhen China is why EVO has emerged as a leader in the field. Former pro snowboarder, ESPN Content Contributor/Talent, and long time Bend resident, Kris “Jaymo” Jamieson joined the team as business development director. Jaymo, who worked for GoPro for the last seven years, was a logical addition to the team as he has so many ties to all aspects of the content creation industry. Jaymo oversees how the product is used by everyday filmers as well as professional film makers. Being out in the moun- tains, riding the trails, and at events, filming and testing the products’ capabilities is how he and EVO Gimbals can provide the best for their customers. EVO Gimbals makes handheld stabilizers for action cameras, smartphones, mirrorless cameras and larger DSLRs.
