1. How did you get involved in board
sports and at what age did you first step
onto a board?
I started skating and snowboarding at age 4
and surfing at 5.
2. How much influence did your dad
have on you getting involved with board
sports?
My dad grew up skating and snowboarding
and got my sister and I into these sports at
a young age. Both of my parents are real
supportive of my sports.
3. Have you ever or do participate in any
traditional team sports?
No, I haven’t done any team sports. I think
lacrosse would be fun..
4. Did you see any other girls participat-
ing in boards sports when you started?
I have a lot of friends that snowboard but not
as many that skate.
5. Why do you think girls shy away from
board sports? Would you like to see
more girls involved? How can we get
more interested?
Not sure why girls shy away. There are a
lot of really good female athletes in these
sports that I look up to. All of the competi-
tions I’ve gone to end up being just me and
a few other girls. I think if I start competing
in California I will have to skate against really
good girls.
6. Other than Bend, where are your
favorite places to snowboard, skate and
surf? Are there any places you really
would like go to and shred?
I haven’t been to many places other that
Hoodoo and Bachelor to snowboard. I would
love to go snowboard in Japan. I’ve surfed
all over Oregon, California and Hawaii. I
have skated all over Oregon, Washington,
California and my favorite was skating in
China! I want to travel all around the world
and experience these sports in new places.
7. How does learning a new trick make
you feel? Do you set goals going into a
new season?
I think over all my goals that I set are to
become stronger and better in all aspects
of these sports. It feels pretty good when I
land a new trick, It’s rewarding to work hard
on a goal and it pays off.
8. Who are some of the people you look
up to in the Bend board sport scene?
I look up to Jake Selover and Maddie Col-
lins.
9. Have you tried surfing the river wave
and if so, did you have any success?
I have not yet surfed the river wave but want
to soon. I have surfed the safe passage with
Haden Mcalister.
10. Do you think about board sports
every day, how much do love the feeling
while on a board?
Yes, I think about board sports every day
because I want to do them every day!
11. Who is your favorite surfer, skate-
boarder and snowboarder of all time?
Nora Vasconcellos and Brighton Zeuner are
a few of my favorite girl skaters. I like John
John Florence, Gerry lopez, and Kelly Slater
(surfers). On the slopes I get to see a lot
of awesome rippers like Curtis Ciszek and
Austin Smith.
