How did you get involved in board sports and at what age did you first step onto a board? I started skating and snowboarding at age 4 and surfing at 5. 2. How much influence did your dad have on you getting involved with board sports? My dad grew up skating and snowboarding and got my sister and I into these sports at a young age. Both of my parents are real supportive of my sports. 3. Have you ever or do participate in any traditional team sports? No, I haven’t done any team sports. I think lacrosse would be fun.. 4. Did you see any other girls participat- ing in boards sports when you started? I have a lot of friends that snowboard but not as many that skate. 5. Why do you think girls shy away from board sports? Would you like to see more girls involved? How can we get more interested? Not sure why girls shy away. There are a lot of really good female athletes in these sports that I look up to. All of the competi- tions I’ve gone to end up being just me and a few other girls. I think if I start competing in California I will have to skate against really good girls. 6. Other than Bend, where are your favorite places to snowboard, skate and surf? Are there any places you really would like go to and shred? I haven’t been to many places other that Hoodoo and Bachelor to snowboard. I would love to go snowboard in Japan. I’ve surfed all over Oregon, California and Hawaii. I have skated all over Oregon, Washington, California and my favorite was skating in China! I want to travel all around the world and experience these sports in new places. 7. How does learning a new trick make you feel? Do you set goals going into a new season? I think over all my goals that I set are to become stronger and better in all aspects of these sports. It feels pretty good when I land a new trick, It’s rewarding to work hard on a goal and it pays off. 8. Who are some of the people you look up to in the Bend board sport scene? I look up to Jake Selover and Maddie Col- lins. 9. Have you tried surfing the river wave and if so, did you have any success? I have not yet surfed the river wave but want to soon. I have surfed the safe passage with Haden Mcalister. 10. Do you think about board sports every day, how much do love the feeling while on a board? Yes, I think about board sports every day because I want to do them every day! 11. Who is your favorite surfer, skate- boarder and snowboarder of all time? Nora Vasconcellos and Brighton Zeuner are a few of my favorite girl skaters. I like John John Florence, Gerry lopez, and Kelly Slater (surfers). On the slopes I get to see a lot of awesome rippers like Curtis Ciszek and Austin Smith.
