You want to use the day ef- ficiently and get stuff done. One item on the top of your list should be you; your physical health, your mental health and the energy to live life to the fullest. Where do you find hap- piness? How does the color orange make you feel? I know how it makes me feel, alive! This is where Orangetheory Fitness comes in. Orangetheory Fitness is a chain of fitness centers that has exploded all over America and the world. Luckily for us, a brand new OTF is about to open this fall in the Old Mill District. Why has Orangetheory grown so fast while many of the other chains have slowed? Re- member how valuable your time is... The OTF workout is a one hour, group personalized workout, based on science and your heart rate target zone all while interval training. The entire workout is happening with a coach who knows your name and your fitness goals. Each person wears a heart monitor and your heart rate, effort, and calories burned are all displayed on the monitor to push you harder to achieve better results. Every workout is different and you train in five heart rate zones. The full body workout is designed to build endurance, strength, power and is low impact. The OTF workout can be done by a first timer or a competitive athlete with no pressure or shaming. The coach is there to encourage you as the rest of the class sweeps you up in excitement. The new owners, Tim and Anne Barrans, have lived in Bend for the past thirteen years. Both have athletic and fitness backgrounds. While visiting family in Arizona, they tried out the Orangetheory workout. The couple liked the workout so much that every time they were there a workout was in the plans. Then the couple started thinking about the work- out scene here in Bend. What was missing from the dozens of fitness centers and gyms in Bend? The Orangetheory culture was missing. The Orangetheory culture is perfect for everybody. The coach can modify your workout so that you don’t over train or under train. Memberships are unique to your schedule; once a week, twice a week, or unlimited. While traveling you can drop into any Orangetheory nationally or internationally. Anybody is welcome to try out an Orangetheory full body workout for free. With a staff that is welcoming, encouraging, and has a lot of passion for what they are doing, you are sure to get swept up in the fun culture that is Orangetheory. Written by Neil Korn
