Milton Packer, MD, Distinguished
Scholar in Cardiovascular Science,
is an internationally recognized
expert on cardiology and
specifically heart failure. He assists
in efforts on the Dallas campus
to focus research studies on the
development of drugs and devices to treat heart
failure and ultimately enhance patient care. Two
years ago, Dr. Packer started “Revolution and
Revelation” a weekly blog on MedPages Today’s
website. He currently enjoys a large following and
comments on his blog posts generally are in the
double digits. Designed as an attention-getter,
Dr. Packer says the blog gives him an opportunity
to share his thoughts on cardiovascular medicine
and healthcare in general that couldn’t be shared
in a medical journal. He’s also been sought after
for commentary by various media outlets during
fiscal year 2019.
Dr. Packer authored or co-authored many
important papers in FY19. Below are a few from
his extensive list:

Dr. Packer also participated in and led sessions
at three highly acclaimed cardiovascular events
during fiscal year 2019:

(CVCT) Forum

He was the speaker for the Paul Wood Lecture
at the British Cardiovascular Society 2019
Annual Conference. His presentation was titled,
“Identifying and treating the triggers of heart
failure: a crisis of evidence.” He was a discussant

Summit in Chicago. Also in fiscal year 2019, Dr.
Packer received an appointment at the Imperial
College in London at the Brompton where he is
