A MESSAGE FROM OUR LEADERSHIP
Being a leader in heart and
vascular care for North
Texas is deeply ingrained
in the culture of Baylor
Scott & White Heart and
Vascular Hospital. Nothing
demonstrates this more
clearly than the two important procedural
milestones achieved in fiscal year 2019—
1000th TAVR performed and the 500th
VAD performed on the Dallas campus.
Both of these achievements were possible
because of the dedication and expertise
of the physicians on the medical staff and
the superb team of cardiovascular staff—
nurses, techs and others—that support
them. These milestones contribute to the
hospital’s nationally recognized reputation
for being a high volume, quality heart and
vascular treatment destination of choice for
thousands of patients.
In addition, the services at Baylor Scott
& White Heart and Vascular Hospital
– Fort Worth grew in strength, scope
and reputation. A clear differentiator for
the program in fiscal year 2019 was the
Structural Heart Disease Program, the only
one of its kind in Tarrant County, bringing
multiple cardiovascular specialties together
to provide individualized care for a variety of
complex disorders.
We act honestly. We serve
faithfully. We are in it together.
We never settle.
From our beginning, these
organizational values have been
and continue to be our daily
reality. Cardiovascular expertise, technological
advances and an unrelenting dedication to caring
for each patient produce outstanding outcomes
and change lives every day. Our 2019 fiscal year
yet again demonstrated the critical role that
teamwork always plays in serving our patients.
The power of one and the strength of many.
This personifies both our mission and the laser
focus from leadership on providing quality heart
and vascular care and an exceptional patient
experience. We invite you to read about the
teams in Dallas and Fort Worth who pursue
that excellence daily. Additionally, through
our long history of commitment to research
and innovation, the medical staff and those
involved with clinical trials continue to expand
the diagnostic and treatment possibilities
for our patients. We live in an age in which
cardiovascular care is in constant advance.
Thus, it is important to all that we often lead the
nation as a top research enrollment site and are
the first to bring new devices to the forefront
of cardiovascular care. It is never acceptable
to rest on our laurels or settle for status quo.
Expert talent, innovative technology and
unwavering dedication to providing quality
care—these have been, and will continue to
be, the ingredients of our success. Again: We act honestly. We serve faithfully.
We are in it together. We never settle.
