Thank you for your interest in Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas and Fort Worth . We are pleased to provide this resource book for clinicians , administrators and others regarding our successful year of accomplishments and outcomes .
In fiscal year 2018 , we enhanced our alignment as a part of Baylor Scott & White Health , the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in Texas ; focused on our mission founded in the Christian ministry of healing to promote the wellbeing of all individuals , families and communities . Our steadfast commitment to our patients anchors our passion for excellence in all we do .
Together with medical leadership across the system , we are dedicated to our Ambition of always striving to become the trusted cardiovascular leader , educator and innovator in value-based care delivery , customer experience and affordability . And , while our new name reflects this strong connection to the largest healthcare system in Texas , Baylor Scott & White Health , we will always honor the rich history and tradition that Jack and Jane Hamilton helped start as North Texas ’ first dedicated heart hospital . We pay tribute to their legacy daily with steadfast focus to remain one of the nation ’ s highly regarded cardiovascular hospitals .
We take our organizational Values seriously . In this past year , the number of local grassroots community outreach activities have grown exponentially . From the weekly presence with the mall walkers at a shopping center in North Dallas and the numerous small church presentations in February Heart Month , to the large annual Tarrant County Hispanic Wellness Coalition event , we treasure our moments of teaching in the community . These opportunities allow us to educate others about the importance of heart health , bring awareness to risk factors , and teach the ability to save a life by knowing Hands Only CPR . We are committed to serve faithfully , act honestly , never settle and always remember – we are in it together . These Values will continue to shape our societal role as conscientious members of the communities we serve .
On the downtown Dallas campus , with Baylor University Medical Center , a part of Baylor Scott & White Health , we collaborate to remain nationally recognized and highly regarded for heart and vascular care , advanced heart failure treatment and the cardiac surgery and heart transplantation programs . Working with the graduate medical education programs , we are proud to be a part of training future cardiovascular specialists . We are also proud to be the home of Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Institute as the research associated with this prestigious group of principal investigators is known worldwide . Many of our programs , especially our Center for Valve Disorders with one of the highest volume transcatheter aortic valve replacement ( TAVR ) programs in the nation , have benefited from the involvement in clinical trials , which offer patients the opportunity to participate in research studies for the latest available investigational devices , procedures and treatment options . We were recently informed from U . S . News & World Report that we once again received “ High Performing ” recognition for both Heart Failure and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair .
