Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital is a part
of an elite group of hospitals recognized by the American
Heart Association. For calendar year 2016, the hospital
achieved Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus STEMI Award and
the Silver NSTEMI Award. The hospital participates with
987 other participating hospitals and approximately 1,158
participating EMS agencies in the collection and analysis
of data. The hospital received an invitation to attend
the 2017 American Heart Association’s Scientific Session
Recognition Event in Anaheim, CA, November 2017.

REGIONALIZED STEMI PROGRAM
Baylor Heart and Vascular Services at Dallas, the
combined strength of Baylor University Medical Center
and Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital,
reported a total of 186 STEMIs in FY17. Hospital teams
work with outlying area hospitals, emergency departments
and urgent cares in the tracking of STEMI patients.
Door-to-balloon time for those who experience a STEMI
– segment elevation myocardial infarction – is a key
measurement as the time it takes to unblock blood vessels
for any STEMI patient transported to the ED.
