“I wasn’t prepared to experience this. I understand the point of privilege I experience as
a straight white Christian woman in the United
States,” she said. “This is the first time I personally
ever felt discriminated against and it reinforced
my empathy. It made me more aware of how we
hurt each other with words. I wish everyone could
love and accept everyone else. How cornball is
that?” She said with a laugh.
Boyle went on to say she has always been an
ally even when she was active in the Mormon
church she spoke up when someone said anything derogatory about anyone.
Boyle, who is no longer active in the church,
moved to the Boise area about four years ago
with her three children ages 15, 8 and 4.The four of
them came from the Las Vegas area where Boyle
attended UNLV (University of Nevada – Las Vegas). Boyle began “twisting” there eight years ago
and worked her way up to the point that she now
teaches and has subcontractors working for her.
