Pride LIVE: Late-Night Variety show seeks to liven up Boise's nightlife Simpson
by Gary
Back in January, OutBoise took the opportunity to talk with Rodney Busbee, founder of Boise Pridefest, to find out more about what to expect for this year's festivities. Since our interview, there have
been several new happenings with the organization, including being officially recognized as a 501(c)3
nonprofit organization.
We recently caught back up with Busbee to find out more about Pride Live, a new monthly show at
The Balcony.
What is Pride Live?
Pride Live is a live, variety show filled with comedy, entertainment, contests, videos, prizes, and the
perfect host: Boise's Blonde Bombshell, Minvera Jayne. Last month's event included Imperial Sovereign
Gem Court of Idaho's current reigning Empress Percilla Moore and comedy from Lady Bizness, a local
duet of female comedians.
April 3 marks the second show for Pride Live, and is going to be filled with some fun surprises, and will
feature their first ever nonprofit challenge. Four local nonprofit organizations will compete at a chance
at an amazing grand prize, donated by Flying M Coffehouse.
The Flying M is donating 3 hours of their profits to the winning organization.
Tickets for Pride Live are $10, which can be purchased via their hotline from 2-6 PM (208) 286-8421.
You can also purchase tickets through www.brownpapertickets.com
Proceeds from Pride Live will go toward the Boise Pride Celbration June 20. This year will be Boise's
biggest Pride event to-date, celebrating 25 years of LGBT Pride.
