Daniela galli:
a star is born
Daniela is an actress who loves her profession. Known throughout Brazil for acting in soap operas, the actress is 44 years old and lives in Campinas with her husband Yuri and her son Gabriel. She began her career at the age of 5 in Campinas, where she was born. Not being sure of what she wanted, she graduated in Architecture and Urbanism. But since 1999 she joined her two passions: acting and architecture. She began working as a scenographer in New York on Broadway and on Lincoln Center. In 2006, after spending 7 years in New York, she returned to Brazil and debuted as Dr. Marilia on "Páginas da Vida", a soap opera produced by the TV network Globo. In 2009 she signed a contract with another network, Record, and there she starred on several soap operas, such as: "Poder Paralelo" and "Pecado Mortal". Her fame grew in 2017 when she was the villain Malu on the hit TV show "Malhação". Now she seems to live very happily with her family while doing what she loves the most: acting.
1) Have you ever dreamed of being an actress?
Not necessarily, but from a young age I knew I would be involved with some form of Art. At 5 years of age, my parents noticed this trend and put me in a school of artistic initiation in Campinas: the Carlos Gomes Conservatory. There I had Music, Dance and Plastic Arts classes and I always liked it a lot. I followed these classes in parallel with the school, and I remember well that at night during the week, while my parents and siblings were watching a movie, I went to my room to draw, to play the flute, to dance. Art is present in me from an early age.
2) If you could choose another profession what would it be and why?

When I went to college I had a hard time choosing the profession. So much that I paid for different courses. Finally, I chose to study Architecture and Urbanism, because, to me, it seemed like a course that encompassed various aspects of the arts. I was right. But Architecture led me to set design, which led me to theater and interpretation. I also had a liking for biomedicals. If I had not gone through the trajectory architect-set designer-actress, maybe I would become a doctor. In this case, I would like to study Medicine

3) What has fame changed in your life?
I'm not so famous. Only when I'm in a soap opera I feel a change in my daily life. In general, it's very nice to have recognition of our work and people approached me with great affection.Because the approach does not have the dimension it suffers, for example, an Antonio Fagundes, it is easy to deal with.

great affection. Because the approach does not have the dimension it suffers, for example, an Antonio Fagundes, it is easy to deal with. For him it's difficult. Once we had dinner together in a group of friends in a restaurant and the poor guy could not get a fork. All the time, people came to take pictures and talk.
I have not changed my lifestyle at all. I'm simple. I like to walk on the street, take the subway, go to the fair. I keep doing this. But I always guard my family (my treasure) in interviews and the like. I like to talk about work, not about my personal life. I'm an actress, not a celebrity.
4) What is the most difficult part of your career?
The life of an artist in Brazil is not easy. In the case of actors, there are many people trying to work in the profession and few opportunities that allow them to survive from it. Like every profession, it requires great dedication, constant study, practice, information and culture. We learn to hear "nos". With each test or audition for a job, you prepare yourself, expose yourself and receive many "nos" until, perhaps, hearing a “yes”. And it will always be so. So many actors are also producers.
