La Casa de Papel is the first fictional series of Netflix fully filmed and set in Spain. It made a lot of success and had great repercussion. This series was shown for the first time on December 25, 2017, and since then it has been acclaimed as a great production in the genre of robbery films.
The fans of the films “Vis a Vis” and “El Barco” can be satisfied and super happy, because “La Casa de Papel” has the same director and creator, Alex Pina. He is a 48 years old Spanish writer and director who has a lot of great films, for example, “Kamikaze” and “Love Without Limits”, among others. Alex Pina made the series first for the Spanish television network Atena 3, but later also sold it to Netflix, where it was one of the most seen shows.
Alex Pina also said in an interview that he already knew before the debut that this series would became a success, because he thought that the actors were very good and talented in what they did. All the the actors are Spanish and they became very famous after the success of the series, mainly the protagonist Maria Pedreza (Alison Parker), Miguel Herran (Rio), and Jaime Lorente (Denver). They are all also a part of a new Netflix series named “Elite”, which has a really good repercussion as well.
“La Casa De Papel” tells the story of eight skilled thieves who lock themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain with the ambitious plan to carry out the greatest robbery in the world and take with them 2 billion euros.
But, for this, the bandits have to deal with the dozens of people they keep as hostages and
with the agents of the Spanish police who do everything for the robbery to fail.
“La Casa de Papel” is one of the best robbery series available on Netflix. Alex Pina was able to keep the viewers’ attention on every detail without leaving them bored. For all the film lovers who like adrenaline, this is the perfect series. The director also leaves the viewers super curious: they cannot stop seeing the show. Because of that, I rate this series with 5 stars.
