grapes when it turns

into the new year. Some

also eat a spoonful of cooked lentils for good fortune. Hosts also give guests a handful of dry lentils for prosperity. Mexicans have many more traditions, such as throwing a bucket of water out the window (to signify throwing out the old year),

In Mexico, New Year’s Eve is celebrated in the evening of December 31st where they stay up until midnight, and wait until it is January 1st.
