The Missing Piece
(a Christmas story)
At the North Pole, on the 23rd of December, an announcement was made through a loud speaker, “All elves, please report to the factory immediately!” Each elf had their own job to do. Some elves were wrapping the presents, others painting the toys, dressing each doll, carving wooden toys, putting wheels on the toy cars or building robots.
Kate was a rather small elf with a rather green hat, and sparkling red dress and shoes. She heard her friend, Lily calling her. Lily was almost the complete opposite of Kate. She was tall, strong, brave, and worked very hard.
“This wood is really hard, I can’t cut this part off!”
Kate ran towards her friend to help her and after lots of trying they finally finished carving the doll. Lily and Kate always worked together. Lily would make the wooden toys and Kate would paint.
Suddenly, they heard someone yelling, “No!”
