GET FAMILIAR WITH PACE CENTER FOR GIRLS:
PACE Center for Girls Escambia-Santa Rosa is a gender-
responsive prevention, diversion and early intervention
program serving at-risk middle and high school girls,
ages 11-18, in our community. Our program model has
been nationally recognized for reducing recidivism and
improving school success, employment and self-sufficien-
cy amongst girls. At PACE, girls receive academic
instruction paired with individualized counseling, life
PACE Center for Girls serves girls at their points of
greatest vulnerability. The common thread among our
girls is a history of trauma caused by sexual abuse,
physical abuse, family instability, bullying, or poverty
- and being told far too often that they are hopeless.
The PACE Center for Girls offers three unique year-
round programs designed to help teenage girls who are
having trouble at home or at school:
PACE DAY Program
A gender-responsive, alternative education and counsel-
ing program featuring a self-paced curriculum, individu-
alized attention and individual, group and family
counseling sessions designed to meet the needs of the girl
and her family. Girls attend school at PACE year-round,
Mon-Fri from 8:30am – 2:30pm, and may also benefit
from a year-round afterschool program where they can
accelerate their learning and development.
GED Preparatory Program
An accelerated program offering intensive remediation
and preparation for completion of the GED while
receiving the social services component of the PACE Day
Program. The in-house GED program also provides girls
with one-on-one and small group instruction as well as
all materials and testing for the 4 GED subject areas.
REACH Program
A therapeutic prevention program designed to serve girls
not enrolled in the PACE Day Program, but who attend
school elsewhere. Featuring highly flexible, mobile
services designed to meet the girl where she is – at her
school, home or in the community – PACE Reach also
offers an afterschool enrichment lab and academic
assistance and goal setting to help girls achieve and grow.
PACE Reach also features vocational empowerment, care
management and therapy sessions.
There is no cost to the girl or her family for any of PACE’s
programs. Funding sources are comprised of the Florida
Department of
Juvenile Justice,
Escambia County
School Board, Santa
Rosa County School
Board, Pensacola
State College, local
foundations and
private donations.

create a learning environment where each girl is empow-
ered and equipped to unleash her own unique potential.
PACE enables young women to complete their education,
build self-esteem and develop personal, social and family

bility for their actions, to make informed and positive
decisions, and to become independent and self-reliant
citizens.
