The Brown County State Park is the beautiful resource we have now largely due to a group of enlistees from a federal work program created during The Great Depression of the 1930s.. This program was under the command of the U. S. Army and was guided by other federal agencies such as the National Park Service and the Department of Agriculture. This group of men learned about land management, soil conservation, and park construction. They planted trees and built many of the existing buildings, shelter houses, lookout towers, roads, and trails. What was the name of this federal government work program?
The answer to last issue’ s mystery was the Pittman Inn.
