On September 19 Morgantown will celebrate Colonel Vawter Day. The festivities are in honor of Colonel John Vawter, Morgantown’ s most colorful resident. Born January 8, 1782, he was a colonel of the militia, a magistrate, sheriff, United States marshall, frontier ranger, surveyor, merchant and Baptist minister.
The fun includes food, musical acts, craft displays, plus kids games and activities.
Shoppers can find great buys at the businesses that line Washington Street and at booths. Free parking, handicap accessibility, public restrooms.
