I know, it’s hard to believe that some people don’t like chocolate… or maybe are intolerant or even allergic (poor them)! It’s also hard coming up to Easter and the school holidays and thinking about what on earth you are going to do with your kids… right?!

My name is Suzie Horne, from Curlicue NZ; I love to design and create distinctive, sustainably elegant and timeless handcrafted jewellery for Mums and their kids, including clip-on earrings. I also make DIY (make your own bracelet or necklace) Kits - which make a great birthday gift or special treat for friends, yourself and your kids!
Growing up, I always loved to design and create all sorts of different things and now my daughter (9) is the same. Last year, after I had already been making and selling my ‘Kids’ necklace and bracelet pre-made sets, my daughter asked if she could design and make her own…. This got me thinking about how I could make up different kit sets, so that others would also have the joy of creating something of their own to keep.
I currently have 3 different types of DIY Kits available for Ladies, Teens & Kids.
I’ll be honest - most of these have been aimed at girls - however, I am more than happy to create kits for boys too!!
Each type has a different selection of stones and beads - the Ladies’ kits tend to feature more freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals, whereas the Kids and Teens kits will feature more glass, ceramic and acrylic beads for those who are more active - though I know girls of all ages love semi-precious stones (such as amethyst, lapis lazuli and moonstone) and gorgeous sparkly crystals too, so some of them are included in each kit!
