18 Our Voice / September 2014

I spoke to Vikeejeah Xevion recently because she and her friend and co-worker blac Quartz are women of excellence, women who'd made an imprint in the Second Life fashion industry. I will share some of their world with you so you might know these women of distinction a little better, and understand the work they do and time they invest to make their virtual world successful.

I asked them each the same set of questions. At the time I did so, I was not aware that blac worked directly with Vikee. I learned more about each of them individually, and about their work as they collaborate and continue to work to build their future in Second Life and beyond this virtual world as well.

Vikee, real name Victoria James, joined Second Life in 2009 and did so because a number of people she knew well who'd invested in another virtual world - IMVU - came over to Second Life for better opportunities. She found the opportunities to be lucrative and immediately began to create items for her first business she founded called House of Xevion.

She's felt a sense of success from that decisive moment to the present. Since opening House of Xevion in 2009, she's expanded her enterprise in Second Life to include Xevion Customer Services in 2010 and Loovus Dzevavor in 2012. Every time she's branched out with new ideas and direction, she's felt like she did well for herself. She consider her brand a thriving fashion business brand and also considers her skills continue to grow. Her customer base increases with each passing season, and feedback from that customer base encourages her to continue doing what she loves doing.

When asked to expand upon her information regarding the most current business she owns, she spoke further about Loovus Dzevavor. Because she owns the company, she has the option of creating her own hours. Any job, virtual world or not, has ups and downs, good days and those days not so good. Because she's in charge, she can cut back if she grows tired or frustrated. Sometimes the amount of work seems to pile on with events continually in progress and different people wanting a piece of the Vikee - Loovus Dzevavor - success.

Thankfully, she says, she has a great group of co-workers she's chosen carefully over time. They help with the work load. She delegates different members of her team to keep different elements of the business in balance.
