and ready to travel down the path that was paved for me…Although the death of mom was devastating it has proven to be the greatest loss but the greatest gain in my life…

Our Voice: Your writings are stories of your own life experiences. Did you find it emotional or a relief to sit down and put these life journeys down on paper for everyone to see

Adair: Everyone always asks me that…I’m okay with it though because all of that is done. I’m healed from it. Is some of it still disturbing to me? Yes. I think because I look at that little girl and I’m sorry for her…afraid for her and just want to hold her and make her feel better. No child should ever have to go through what I went through. I’m healed though --- it was just telling a story. I told the stories about things I didn’t have control over--- not the grown-up stories in my life that I had full control over and still made stupid mistakes about…That is harder…That is my next book (lol!). I’m writing it now and it is more difficult because it requires acknowledging my mistakes, my fears and my grown-up hurts…

Our Voice: "Go Hard and Stumble Softly" What do you want your readers to receive from this particular book?

Adair: That despite and in spite of anything that you have gone through in your life you can “Get Over It!” but following my Go Hard strategies…

Our Voice: You are not only an author but you own your own publishing company. What are the major challenges that you have faced when making the decision to publish your own books?

Adair: Just knowing how to do it! I had to enroll in some mastermind classes with established publishers and marketing strategists to learn what I know.

Our Voice: You have both a successful family life and new career how does Lupus play a part in your life.

Adair: Oh my! LUPUS is a daily part of our lives…The good, the bad and the ugly…It is a family disease that impacts everyone who comes in touch with you. Anyone who really knows me knows that I have LUPUS so they “get it” and understand when I may have to step back and step away so I can take care of me. Everyone also know how important the Lupus Foundation is to me so I do receive great support each year when I participate in the annual Atlanta Lupus Walk.

Our Voice: Looking in on your life we may come to the conclusion that you’ve done it all. What is next for you?

Adair: Well, I’ll have 2 new books released at the end of the summer….I still want to travel more around the country served as a featured or keynote speaker based on my signature topics, I want to work with teens to implement my teen program, I want to teach others how to tell their stories…and then get them published….I NEVER stop dreaming…I strongly believe that when you finish one dream you start working on the next one. If you are not dreaming then you are not living. Each day I am working a dream to live a dream so I can think that I have “done it all.” God orders my steps and this is the path that he has placed in front of me to travel upon…

Our Voice: What do you advise new writers to do?

Adair: Contact me at [email protected]! We need to sign them up for my new course “How to write the book and tell the story that you’ve been waiting years for…” It will be a four week course beginning in June that will walk you through everything you need to know to get that book written. What’s great about it is that you are writing as the course is happening and we are meeting weekly to make sure that you are getting it done. I share specific strategies and techniques and I offer some editorial services…it will be an awesome course and registration will begin around May 15th!
