From the Publishers More Images Less Verbiage Hey, it's summertime. We thought we would give some of our writers a well deserved breather and not include them this issue. Dr. Karla, Dr. Vega and Willa Robinson will be back next issue. We hope you will miss them, but please do enjoy this image filled issue. Cover Image We snapped this picture of two schoolmates enjoying being kids. To us, that's what summer should be all about. Take the time to remember your childhood and the fun days of summer long ago. Then get outdoors and relive those wonder years. Live! Laugh! Love! The 4th of July Parade As a veteran and patriotic family we have always relished our city's 4th of July Parade. Our family moved here 34 years ago when the parade went from San Fernando Road (now Main Street and years ago Spruce Street) to Lyons Avenue and ended at Wiley Canyon Road. Then off we would go to Tips Restaurant on Pico Canyon Road (just over the I-5 overpass) for some cooling off, socializing and libations. We can still see Art and Glo Donnelly waving as they passed by in their beautifully themed attire. Those were the days friends. Having said that, this year's parade had an abundance of patriotism, hundreds of participants and thousands of onlookers. Great job Parade Committee! Leon Worden as President and Linda Storli-Koonz as Chairperson deserve our special gratitude. A special shout out to Tammy Edwards and Fred Trueblood for their great job televising the parade.
