Aixa DeLuca
Aixa’s art career began in 1994 when she worked
as a graphic designer for the “Yellow Pages” and
at “The Stuart News” as Marketing Coordinator
and head of the “Newspapers in Education”
program. She created an art publication in FL
that promoted local artists and art events and
also worked as Art Director for an advertising
company with offices in FL, NY and CA.
After completing studies in photography in 1997,
she worked as a photojournalist for several
newspapers and also photographed food,
restaurants, celebrities and events,
Her eye for composition and detail helped
transition her into painting as she developed
skills to create an expressionistic series, rich in
texture, with suggestive strokes using palette
knives with acrylic paints and mediums. These
have been on exhibit at the Museum of Art of
Ventura County amongst others as well as at the
Ventura County Fair where most of the paintings
won awards.
Her love for nature and wildlife inspires her most
recent work that includes pet portraits and
wildlife using pastels and oils. Aixa accepts
commissions for pet portraits.
