to run for the Assembly earlier this year.
He is an example of a candidate who we supported for local office and then for the legislature. It is a model that GROW Elect has promoted, and we are proud to see Dante on a path to
success in November.
Young Latinos Scored
Impressive Victories in the
Central Valley
Jesus Andrade
(pictured left),
a young Latino
and first time
candidate, ran an
impressive race for
a city council seat
in his hometown
of Stockton. He ran against two elected
officials and is now in the city¬wide runoff
in November with a campaign focused on
making Stockton a better place for all families.
Kuyler Croker
(pictured right),
another young
Latino, worked hard
to earn a top spot in
the runoff for Tulare
County Supervisor.
He impressed many
with his hard work and determination in a
crowded field of candidates. He is focused on
public safety, creating jobs and supporting
agriculture. Jesus and Kuyler are the faces
of young Latinos who are passionate about
improving their communities in the Central
Latinos Win in the
Southernmost Counties
in California
Valley.
Mike Diaz (pictured
right) in Chula Vista
successfully secured a
spot to face off against
a longtime politician
in Chula Vista in the
November runoff. He is
running to provide representation to a neglected
community in that diverse city in San Diego
County.
Further east, Erik
Ortega (pictured left)
ran an impressive
campaign and won
a position on the
November ballot for
the Imperial Irrigation
District in Imperial
County. His campaign
is focused on creating good jobs in a region with
the highest unemployment rate in the state.
Latino Assembly Candidates
Come Out on Top
The two Latino
Republican Assembly
members in California
posted impressive
primary results for
their re-elections. Eric
Linder (pictured left)
received the most
votes in his competitive
district in Riverside
County. And, Rocky
Chavez (pictured right)
received 100% of the
vote in his district in
San Diego County,
assuring him of a
victory for re-election in
the fall.
