Cuban twins, Naomi and
Lisa-Kainde Diaz. They are
daughters of the late Cuban
percussion Anga Diaz. Naomi
plays percussive instruments,
the Cajon and the Batas,
while Lisa plays piano.
Together the twins combine
modern pop, hip-hop and
electronic influences with the
traditional sounds of their
father’s Yorùbán culture.

attracted critical acclaim.
It’s also Grant’s most
personal work to date. “I
definitely had a Seventies
vibe in my head for the new

>> Jolie Holland is performing on Tuesday, February 17,
at the popular Bush Hall in Uxbridge Road, Shepherds
Bush, and we have TWO pairs of tickets to give away to
the Texan singer-songwriter’s west London gig. The
travelling performer’s European tour includes a couple of
UK gigs supporting Elbow, while her solo concerts focus
on tracks from her new, critically acclaimed folk/jazz
album, Wine Dark Sea. A spearkling showcast of her
innovative writing style, it is Jolie’s fifth studio album.
As well as Britain, Jolie is also performing in the
Netherlands, Germany, Spain and France. But most
importantly, she’s coming to visit us in Shepherds Bush.
