t Peter’s primary school –
located over three sites in
close proximity to St Peter’s
Church – is a school which
boasts a rich history. One
of the first charity schools
set up in west London, the school
was founded by George Scott and his
daughter Lucy Hannah Scott in 1849
when they realised that there was an
acute shortage of even the most basic
education for the children of labourers
who lived in the district.
This policy of inclusivity is one that
headteacher Jean Shipton explains
continues to be very much at the core
of the school’s ethos today.
