Times Long Gone
By Amanda Hammond
The stories she tells
Of times long gone,
When she was a child
Learning right from wrong.
Sparkle do her eyes,
As she tells of the farm.
Where she milked the cows,
Before the cockerel’s alarm.
When winter came,
They would go out and play,
And to get to town,
They had a horse and sleigh.
When she finished her tale,
Of times long gone.
I sat and marveled,
At how times had moved on.
For all these things,
I had never seen.
And for her those days,
Are now just a dream.....
