nurses worked together to provide him with the help he needed to
improve. According to Pelletier, the steady attention given to him by
the rehab team has made a difference in his rehab.
“They work as a team and it’s fantastic,” he said. “They
communicate, and they know when to push me harder and when to
have me slow down.”
Pelletier, who has maintained a positive attitude throughout
his rehab, continues to suffer from double vision, but he expects his
eyes to get better over time. He can now get around with the help of
a walker, and he intends to continue improving.
“I can walk and talk. I can still move,” he said. “I didn’t realize
that strokes were so prevalent and debilitating. I consider myself to
be very fortunate.”
Thanks to his hard work and some help from the TAMC
rehab team, Pelletier achieved his goal of walking out of the hospital
under his own power on July 27. He intends to get back to playing
computer games and fishing, and he hopes to be able to hunt this
fall.
“I just want to get back to life,” he said.
Michael Pelletier plays Nintendo Wii Golf to regain his strength
upational therapist Casey Nightingale.
