At this year’s holiday party, a decorated tree stood between a
stack of gifts for women and a stack of gifts for men. Across the
room, three dining tables were stacked high with additional gifts
for women, men, and children. The gifts on the tables were all
donated by one individual. The boxes by the tree were filled with
gifts donated by participants in the Stocking Stuffers drive. This
year’s Stocking Stuffers donors provided enough hats, scarves,
gloves, socks, watches, jewelry, make-up, books, and other small
gifts to fill 90 boxes for women and men. The 90 boxes were
given out at the holiday party in the Shelter. Every adult resident
of the Shelter received a box, and the remaining boxes were given
to new residents as they checked in during the following days.
The annual Stocking Stuffers drive also provides supplies and
equipment for all Our House programs and for our offices and
maintenance.
