As part of their night of pampering and comfort, the Massage Envy staff provided chair massages, facials, nail service, and children’s activities for the Shelter residents. Massage Envy is a regular volunteer at Our House, hosting Bingo in the Shelter on the first Monday of every month. Sisters N Stitches & Operation Warm Heads Two separate donors gave handmade winter gear to all of our adults & kids. Sisters N Stitches donated about 100 of their handmade winter hats & scarves. They were warm additions to the Shelter residents’ holiday gift boxes. Operation Warm Heads made unique kid-size hats decorated with flowers, animals, braided tassels, & other fun hand-knit designs. The kids loved the designs & were excited to choose which hat they wanted. Fellowship Bible Church During their lunch service in the Shelter, six members of the Fellowship Bible Church volunteer group came to the office to fill gift boxes for adult Shelter residents. Gloves, scarves, hats, socks, watches, wallets, jewelry, make-up, books, & other small gifts had been donated by Stocking Stuffers & other donors. The volunteers made sure every box (previously wrapped by volunteers from Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School) had a variety of these gifts inside.
