“ ” Children’s Center. Sydney says, “I really like what the Children’s Center is setting out to do. My mom said that people don’t understand what the mission is and how much trouble it has been to get it funded. I thought, I can give to it.” Sydney, a student at Little Rock Central High School, had earned some of the money by baby-sitting and teaching religi ous school at her Temple. The rest was money she had saved from her last summer job as a camp counselor. “I had saved that money, so I decided that was the best way to use it.” Sydney has advice for other young people who might be reading this. “Talking about an issue and making it known is great, but doing something is even better. Writing a paper is one thing. Taking action is completely different and more powerful.”
