COMMUNITY |
|||
Two years into our business we were asked to try a store on Bowen’ s Wharf in Newport. The welcome and support from that community helped us to get where we are today. We intend to build on this with new friends here at 10 Sims Ave. |

COMPANY INITIATIVES |
|||
We try to use local companies and products whenever we can. Anchor Toffee has participated in community fundraisers since the very beginning. In 2022 we will be doing some demonstrations and tastings, with donations going to the Alzheimer’ s Foundation. |

HOW WE STARTED
Anchor Toffee began around the same time that Peter and Katie Kelly were blessed with their daughter, Michaela. The urge to create a family business led to the candy that Peter had been making for years as a starting point. Hope and Main, the small business incubator, provided the opportunity to get started without a huge investment.

WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE
Our toffees are made the way that candy was made 100 years ago. Nothing artificial, wholesome dairy, delicious house roasted nuts, and excellent American Chocolate from Guittard. Everyone who comes into our shop gets a taste of our toffee and a warm welcome.
|
WHAT’ S NEXT?
We are going to be working on a few more flavors of toffee and truffles. For our vegetarian and vegan friends we are researching vegan options for both sweets, as well as sugar-free options for people with dietary concerns.
