THE STRUCTURE OF THE TURKISH EDUCATIONAL
SYSTEM
 Education in Turkey is governed by a national system which was
established in accordance with the Reforms of Atatürk after the
Turkish War of Independence
 Children are obliged to take 12 years of education between the ages
of 6 and 18 ,
 About 95 % of students attend public schools, and the rest of the
students are educated in private education. Annually, about 1.5
million students graduate from Turkish high schools.
