In some areas of the country , it is customary for unmarried young people to dress in clean , festive clothes , and to start collecting snowdrops and violins , which they can later place on icons . On the way back , the girls run to the village , and the boys run to catch the girl they love . If they catch their chosen one , they steal a kiss in front of everyone , a kiss that symbolizes their covenant throughout the year . Hence the saying " Dragobetele kisses girls ". If on this day the girl has not met a boy , it is believed that she will not be loved by any boy all year round , and vice versa .
The bajram ( Eid Al-Fitr ) is the most important festival for the Muslim people . The bajram is divided into 2 parts , large bajram and small bajram . This festival does not have a precise date in fact it is always celebrated one month before the last time . During this festival they usually make cakes like bakllava and Trileçe .

In some villages , there is still a tradition that for Dragobete , young people should drink tea from cherry twigs and eat cakes from crushed hemp seeds . That way they will have love all year long .
