Danville , Vermilion County ’ s story continues to evolve

The Danville and Vermilion County area has a lot going for it , with growing businesses and industries , great parks and neighborhoods , arts and entertainment , and schools and community organizations .
But local officials say the area doesn ’ t toot its horn loud enough and there ’ s work still to be done .
“ I think we ’ re going to see more things added as things come along ( such as the casino and new medical facilities ). We have a lot of things already . We just need to tell our story better ,” said Vermilion Advantage CEO Tim Dudley .
“ When you start coupling all these things together , I think we ’ re on the right track for growth ,” Dudley said , about economic development and quality of life improvements .
The local climate for economic development and construction projects is strong right now .
Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr . said “ It ’ s incredible , you know , to see everything from mom-and-pop shops downtown to Fortune 500 companies out at Eastgate ; and what that says to me is that we are building a city that people are interested in
