Construction projects are continuing at the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System on East Main Street in Danville . VA Illiana is committed to providing high-quality care to our nation ’ s heroes .
“ To support this commitment , VA is constantly looking for areas where its facilities can be improved to foster an environment for healing and wellbeing . Upon completion , the projects underway and planned at VA Illiana will ensure veterans continue to receive care in facilities that deliver the high-quality health care they have earned ,” according to VA officials .
In summer 2022 , VA Illiana

completed a major project to add a canopy entrance and valet parking area to Building 98 at the Danville VA Medical Center . This welcoming entrance will greet veterans as they enter to receive their care . Planning is underway for a safe and socially distanced opening of this patient-focused addition .
Passing by the new entrance , visitors also may notice active work on the VA Illiana ’ s 2022 sidewalk replacement project . Modernizing walking surfaces around the Danville campus promotes patient and guest safety and is also aimed at fostering an environment supportive of whole-health and physical wellness , VA officials state .

completion in 2022 and 2023 will enhance the overall experience for veterans .
Renovation of VA Illiana ’ s Care in the Community facilities is expected to be completed in fall 2022 . This updated workspace will ensure VA employees have the accommodations they need to serve veterans efficiently . In spring 2023 , VA anticipates completion of the Building 98 pharmacy construction . This project will consolidate inpatient and outpatient pharmacies into one consolidated unit .
Multiple projects are scheduled to start in spring 2023 :
• Construction of two new Small Houses ( no . 7 and no . 8 ). Small Houses replace nursing home beds with a

new and innovative approach for veterans in need of a skilled care setting . In Small Houses , they receive personalized care in a small-home environment .
• Construction of a fitness trail near the Danville campus pond and patient care facilities .
• Construction of concrete pads for the planned installation of new benches around the Danville campus .
“ Additionally , several exciting projects are entering their design phase in fall 2022 . Design will begin on projects that will directly improve sustainability , renewable energy , and efficiency ,” according to VA .
