Street and Carle Danville on Vermilion Street . It will host more than 250 staff at the new riverfront location .
Carle at the Riverfront will consist of medical offices and an ambulatory surgery center on more than 152,000 square feet and 17 acres of land . Plans had shown a future medical building to the south .
Christie Clinic announced this summer that “ it is with great pleasure that we formally announce the construction of a new Christie Clinic facility to better serve our Vermilion County patients . The new medical office building will be approximately 20,000 sq . ft . and double the size of our existing North Vermilion
Street location . When complete , we will consolidate all current Danville services – including primary care and cardiology , dermatology , dietitian , foot and ankle surgery , general surgery , laboratory , nephrology , orthopedics and sports medicine , pain and rehabilitation , physical therapy and radiology departments into the new facility and expect to provide additional specialties to Vermilion County also .”
“ Following on the very successful collaboration with Carle Health in southwest Champaign at Christie Clinic at the Fields , we will once again team with Carle and locate our facility in the Carle at the Riverfront development now
under construction . This location ( 108 Robinson St ., Danville ) near the intersection of Logan Avenue and Main Street in southwest Danville is ideally located near hospital facilities and allows convenient access to Interstate 74 ,” Christie Clinic officials stated . “ We expect the Christie Clinic at the Riverfront facility at 108 Robinson St . to be operational early in 2023 .”
Christie Clinic has Danville locations on North Vermilion Street and Logan Avenue .

FedEx to open this fall

Construction continues on the FedEx Ground facility in Danville . The building is scheduled to begin operations in October , officials state . When the announcement came in December 2021 on the project , Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr . and Vermilion Advantage officials voiced their excitement .
“ Danville has always been a transportation and logistics hub and we ’ re thrilled that FedEx has chosen to bolster that capacity ,” Williams said .“ The hundreds of new , good-paying jobs and additional shipping options will be a huge boon for our citizens , businesses , and our community . We welcome FedEx and thank you for investing in Danville .”

Recruitment is underway for jobs at the new facility , according to FedEx officials . The new facility will employ a mix of fulltime and part-time team members .
It was expected to have 150 to 180 fulltime jobs and a couple hundred part-time and seasonal jobs , according to Williams .
Construction started last year on the building in the Southgate Industrial Park near Fiberteq and Sygma .
FedEx Ground entered into a lease agreement on a new , 217,000 square-foot distribution center located on Borgen Drive .
The company also will contract for package pickup and delivery services with service provider businesses that hire locally for driver , helper , manager and other positions . FedEx officials said they continue to experience significant package volume due to e-commerce growth and are optimizing the capacity of its network to meet growing demand for its services .
The Danville site was chosen because of its ease of access to major highways , proximity to customers ’ distribution centers and a strong local community workforce for recruiting employees .
