plumbing and electric , and completed underground plumbing and electrical .
Work is continuing on in-slab electrical rough-in ; poured trench infill concrete . They ’ ve started forming and pouring foundations and pouring floor slab in back of house areas .
From a hiring perspective , Wilmot said they ’ ve started posting positions for senior management on Casino Careers and other hiring websites . Those positions include purchasing manager , director of finance , and director of human relations .
Wilmot said they are still working with Danville Area Community College on training programs and most of the casino staff will be on board at the end of this year and the beginning of next year . Only select senior management will be onboarded over the next two to three months .
General Manager Juris Basens is the first Golden Nugget Danville employee . He was to move to Danville in August .
He said there will be vendor and job fairs ; and the developers will be in partnership with DACC for recruiting , training programs for table games and slot machines and in other casino areas .
According to DACC President Stephen Nacco , casino job training courses start in January .
Basens also has said they plan to have the sports bar named this year .
He said hopefully the casino will bring a lot of revitalization to the entire area . The restaurant area will have its own entrance and exit , with families not having to go through the casino .
Basens said they ’ re hoping that the casino will be so busy that they ’ re going back to the IGB to expand quickly .

According to Joe Miller , director of policy for the IGB , “ the IGB is following the casino licensing process outlined in Section 7 of the Illinois Gambling Act and Board Rule 230 . The IGB has approved Danville ’ s construction plan and the applicant has begun construction on its permanent facility . Board rule 230 lists out the requirements for a casino to become operational in Illinois and the IGB is following that process .”
The city of Danville also has been involved with traffic studies and roadway improvements planned around the casino site .
The casino ’ s location is on Danville ’ s east side at 204 Eastgate Dr .
Wilhelm Construction of Indianapolis is the general contractor and Danville Development entered into an agreement with local labor unions to construct the estimated $ 100 million casino .
The proposed casino will feature a 41,500-square-foot gaming floor with 500 slot machines , 14 table games , two restaurants , including a Saltgrass Steakhouse , a sportsbook and 650 surface parking spaces . The project will offer an online gaming and digital sports betting platform through Golden Nugget Online Gaming , Inc . There will be about 300 jobs .
Additional building square footage for Phase 1 allows for meeting rooms or additional casino or restaurant space .
